I am an advanced graduate student in the Sociology department at UC San Diego. My specializations include culture, institutions and organizations, gender, and military sociology. My research uses insights from institutional theory to make sense of organizational practices that affect veterans and men and women in the active duty military. 

​My dissertation, "Thank You For Your Service: The Rise of a Veterans Service Industry," explores the non-profit sector of military/veterans services in San Diego and the extent to which these organizations perceive, shape, and respond to the needs of veterans in transition.
